Tuition/Late Fee Petitioning Procedures

Petition for Consideration of Exception to Policy

Rights & Responsibilities
Students may not appeal on the basis of ignorance of University policies and procedures. Read and be aware of your responsibilities as a student. Your appeal must be made only because of circumstances that are BEYOND YOUR CONTROL. For example, a death in the immediate family, life threatening situations, medical reasons, a University error, military leave, etc. Do not file a petition if you do not fall into these categories. If you feel that you are qualified to file a petition, please make sure you have officially withdrawn with the Registrar's Office or your petition WILL NOT be considered.

Financial Obligations
Students are responsible for payment of their tuition and fees by the published due date even if financial aid is delayed. All students know their financial obligations prior to the beginning of each semester. Recommended financial aid application filing dates are listed on the website for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. A change in your financial status after the semester begins is not considered "beyond your control".

Documentation Required
The burden of proof rests with the student. PLEASE attach all documentation from professors, doctors, or others (on Letterhead stationery), which support your request. The final decision will be based on documentation submitted. All information should be accurate and concise.

You must be officially withdrawn from all classes considered on this petition. You will be notified by mail of the decision.

Print Petition Form

For best printing results, set your font size to 10 or 11, and font style to Arial or Helvetica.
