Our current Web systems are hosted on Sun Netra servers running the Netscape Enterprise Server and Solaris operating system. The web programs are Perl/CGI scripts with embedded SQL that interface with the PeopleSoft (Oracle) database and systems. We also take advantage of client-side Javascript for enhanced navigation. We are in the process of converting to a Java Environment--the Java 2 Enterprise Edition--with BEA's Web Logic as our application server. We will start rolling out systems under the new environment late fall of 2000.

Our web site and programs debuted in July of 1995, with the posting of the online class schedule. Since then, usage has increased dramatically: our average daily "hits" are around 150,000 with peak days reaching the 660,000 mark (May 2000). If you're interested in statistics for specific systems, see our Web Statistics program, or contact webmaster@acs.utah.edu
