JAPAN Course Descriptions

Adviser. For advising assistance, please call the Department of Languages and Literature at 581-7561.

The Department of Languages and Literature offers a major and a minor in Japanese for students wishing to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture through the study of the Japanese language, literature, arts, and society. The Japanese major also provides the necessary background for graduate study.

All courses counting toward the major or the minor must be completed with a grade of C or better. Check with the department to see if a transcript is needed. If a course that is a requirement for the major is not available, the department reserves the right to substitute another course to fulfill that requirement.
