6090  Medical Biochemistry (10)
   For medical students; designed to fit medical-school curriculum. Lectures, conferences, and demonstrations on human metabolism and clinical applications.

6500  Biochemical Mechanisms of Signal Transduction (1 to 2)
   Mechanisms by which extracellular signals, acting through receptors, regulate transmembrane signaling systems that control production of second messengers within target cells.

6550  Site-Specific Drug Targeting (1 to 2) Cross listed as MD CH 6550.
   Approaches to the chemical preparation and delivery of bioconjugates of pharmaceuticals and biophysical probes to selected cellular targets. Biochemical studies of affinity probes, immunoconjugates, prodrugs, liposomes, membrane mimetics, and chemically-modified polysaccharides, peptides, and nucleic acids are included.

6560  Biomedical Application of Mass Spectrometry (1 to 2) Recommended Prerequisite: CHEM 2310 and 2320.
   Basic principles of mass spectrometry and its application in biochemistry, pharmacology, and organic chemistry.

6900  Graduate Seminar (1 to 2)
   Students and faculty report on current papers from biochemical literature.

6910  Biochemical Techniques (1 to 9) Recommended Prerequisite: BIO C 5200 and 5210.
   Short tutorial courses for individual instruction in specialized techniques.
