General Catalog 2002-2003
Posted March 1, 2002

Adviser. Eric Laursen, 1217 LNCO, 581-6013

Majors in Russian are intended for students wishing to gain a deeper understanding of Russian culture, language, literature, and society. Majors and minors in language education are also possible. In addition, the Russian major provides the necessary background for graduate study in languages and literature.

All courses counting toward the major or the minor must be completed with a grade of C or better. Check with the department to see if a transcript is needed. If a course that is a requirement for the major is not available, the department reserves the right to substitute another course to fulfill that requirement.

Students beginning their major (i.e., beginning to take upper-division courses) after Fall 1998 must have a second major, a minor, or must take 16 allied hours.
