Adviser. For advising assistance, please call the Department of Languages and Literature at 581-7561.

The Department of Languages and Literature offers a major and a minor in classics for students wishing to gain a deeper understanding of the ancient Greek and Roman cultures through the study of the Greek and the Latin languages, literature, arts, and society. The classics major also provides the necessary background for graduate study.

All courses counting toward the major or the minor must be completed with a grade of C or better. Check with the department to see if a transcript is needed. If a course that is a requirement for the major is not available, the department reserves the right to substitute another course to fulfill that requirement.
