ANTHROPOLOGY TEACHING MAJOR
I. Core Requirements
A total of 33 hours in anthropology, with at least 18 completed at the University of Utah, is required.
ANTHR 1101 Culture and the Human
Experience 3
ED ST 5180 Secondary Social Studies Methods 3
Two of the following:
ANTHR 1201 Human Origins: Evolution and
Diversity 3
ANTHR 1301 The Human Past 3
ANTHR 1401 The Evolution of Human Nature 3
Three of the following sub-disciplines:
(cultural ANTHR x1xx) 3
(biological ANTHR x2xx) 3
(archeology ANTHR x3xx) 3
(evolutionary ecology ANTHR x4xx) 3
Additional hours to meet the 33 hour major requirement of anthropology courses.
II. Certification Course Work
Students must complete pre-cohort and cohort education course work listed under
Secondary Education
in the Graduate School of Education section.
